Marsh to Close 8 Stores

INDIANAPOLIS (WOWO): Eight Marsh grocery stores will close before the end of the month. The company announced the move today citing a declining customer base and some leases expiring.

The stores are in Muncie, Indianapolis, Franklin, Speedway and in Franklin, Ohio.

In a press release, the company said, “Customers have spoken and we are reacting to the realities of the markets and making difficult decisions to address the long-term health of the company.”

It’s part of a three-year plan to position the chain for growth and profitability. The company says, their plan will include remodeling some existing stores and build others. Employees will have opportunity to find a position with the company or given severance.
