Mayor and Police Unite to Reduce Homicides in City

FORT WAYNE, Ind (WOWO) – Today Fort Wayne Mayor Tom Henry was joined by Fort Wayne Police Chief Rusty York and leaders within the Fort Wayne Police Department to discuss the recent homicides in the Summit City.

Mayor Henry reassured the community that his administration and the police department are doing everything they can to ensure Fort Wayne is as safe as possible.

He added the recent shootings in Fort Wayne have been the result of gang activity, drugs and domestic disputes. 

Chief York reiterated the importance of the community coming together and working with police. In addition, Chief York stressed that residents with information about crimes should contact police immediately.
