INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WOWO) — Indiana Secretary of State Diego Morales finalized an agreement with the Department of Homeland Security to verify voter eligibility using federal immigration data.

Through the SAVE program, election officials can now cross-check voter registrations with citizenship records.

The state will mail notices to voters whose citizenship cannot be confirmed, giving them a chance to provide proof of citizenship.
