Murder trial postponed due to new evidence

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The murder trial for a man accused of killing his half-brother has been postponed.

The discovery of new evidence postponed it on Tuesday according to the Journal Gazette. Attorney Mark Thoma filed court documents that revealed an inmate at the jail had new information in the case.

Joshua Mackin, 34, is charged with murder in the shooting death of Samuel Westlake, 37, in February of last year.

Witnesses told police Mackin was angry because Westlake slept with his girlfriend.
