National Preparedness Month

INDIANAPOLIS (WOWO): September is National Preparedness Month, and the Indiana Department of Homeland Security wants to make sure Hoosiers are prepared in the case of an emergency. Any number of disasters can leave a house without power. The Department recommends having a disaster kit that would allow you to be self-reliant for at least 3 days if an emergency situation happened. Another good idea is working with family and neighbors to make a plan like where to go in case of an emergency. You can take a survey about preparedness at www.in.gov/dhs.
