Nearly 23,000 pounds of beef recalled due to E. coli

Recall

INDIANA (WOWO): Almost 23,000 pounds of raw ground beef and beef “primal cut” products are being recalled due to possibly being contaminated with E. coli.

The US Department of Agriculture says Kentucky-based Creation Gardens Inc. is recalling a number of products that were produced between May 31st and June 2nd of this year, and shipped to food service locations in Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio and Tennessee.

The problem was discovered Monday when plant management notified authorities that inspections had found two positive E.coli test results.

E. coli is a potentially deadly bacteria that can cause dehydration, abdominal cramps, bloody diarrhea, and in some cases, kidney failure.
