FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO)— A Fort Wayne woman and several associates are facing felony charges following an investigation into the theft of nearly $3,000 worth of liquor from a local store.
Court records say 34-year-old Courtney Clawson and multiple accomplices stole alcohol from the Cap n’ Cork on Coliseum Boulevard using a coordinated checkout scheme. Investigators allege Clawson scanned small, airplane-sized bottles at the register while placing larger, higher-priced bottles into bags without paying for them.
Police say the thefts occurred during multiple transactions and resulted in a total loss of $2,966.57 in merchandise.
Authorities say twelve people are linked to the investigation. Those identified in court records include Geoffrey Wade, Dimanic Goodwin, Jamie Wade, Darrell Thomas, Michael Nelson, Brittany Roberson, and Kameshia Tabb. Additional suspects are also named in the case.
The theft was discovered during an internal review, and the incident was later reported to law enforcement. Investigators reviewed transaction records and surveillance footage as part of the investigation.
Cap n’ Cork is seeking full restitution for the stolen merchandise. The defendants face felony theft-related charges, and the case remains pending in court.

Let me preface this comment by saying.. this Cap n’ Cork has little product diversity, it’s even a step down from New Haven’s.
Bring back Evening Sampling Party’s!
That out of my system… did she not have an understanding of how INVENTORY & ORDERING works?? 34 years old?
I have to place a lot of blame on the Store Manager.
Your employees should all have a beginning grasp of Cleaning, Stocking and taking Inventory!
Get them familiar with the product and operations. 😞
In the end, this training will allow employees to understand this act to be frivolous at best!
…then, they can move on to things like skimming off drawers and collecting Card Data & PINs.
