Northeast Indiana Facing Critical Job Skills Deficit

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A new report says Northeast Indiana could soon lack qualified workers in a decade or less.

The study says about 20 percent of workers in the region are expected to retire. Leaders say training and education to train younger workers is urgently need to meet the needs of employers. The greatest concern now appears to be in education, transportation and manufacturing.

The latest labor market information report was compiled for Northeast Indiana Works by the Community Research Institute at IPFW.
