New Energy Corp. Files for Bankruptcy

The company that recently shut down Indiana’s oldest ethanol plant because of high corn prices and other factors has filed for bankruptcy protection. New Energy Corp.’s president, Russ Abarr, says the company has been trying to sell the South Bend-area plant since last year. He says many ethanol companies are struggling due to the drought.
