New Haven and Decatur Projects Receive Grants

NEW HAVEN, Ind. (WOWO): A couple of area park projects will be getting a boost from the State of Indiana.

The Indiana Office of Tourism Development has awarded a $35,000 grant to the New Haven Parks Department for a band shell project, as well as a $40,000 grant for a group in Decatur trying to turn the Pennsylvania Railroad depot into a community center. The Journal Gazette reports that Lt. Governor Sue Elspermann called the New Haven Parks Department personally to notify them of their grant, which will go with $53,000 raised locally for building a new band shell at Schnelker Park this year.
