FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO/Inside Indiana Business): Work begins on Phases 2 and 3 of the Riverfront Fort Wayne project today.

The Philadelphia-based design team, the David Rubin Land Collective, will begin the effort with focus groups with residents on topics like downtown living, youth involvement, and historic preservation.

Phases II and III will focus on private development and include the delivery of three key items: a master plan for the Riverfront, analysis and recommendations for infrastructure to serve new developments, and design and construction documents for more public improvements along the river’s edge.

Phase 1, which includes the $20-million Promenade Park, should wrap up in June. The park will feature the Compass Pavilion, which will serve as the anchor venue for events, as well as a tree canopy trail, amphitheater, and a kid’s canal.
