FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) — The Indiana State Police Fort Wayne Post will join 50 other Indiana law enforcement agencies to partner with Special Olympics Indiana and Dunkin’ stores on Friday, May 15, for Cop on a Rooftop.
Troopers will be stationed at the Dunkin’ store at 9821 Lima Rd. in Fort Wayne from 5 a.m. to noon.
Visitors to participating Dunkin’ stores can donate money and learn more about their local Special Olympics Indiana program. Police and safety officers will be stationed in and around the stores from 5 a.m. to noon to help support and raise awareness for the 20,000 Hoosier athletes who train and compete for free within Special Olympics.
Individuals who donate to Cop on a Rooftop receive a coupon for a free donut. Those who donate $10 or more receive a coupon for a free medium hot coffee.
“Supporting the Special Olympics isn’t just an event for us – it’s a commitment to people who inspire us every day,” Sergeant Wes Rowlader said. “These athletes show what determination, courage, and community truly look like. Every dollar we raise helps transform that spirit into training, competition, and lifelong confidence.”
To date, Cop on a Rooftop events have raised more than $125,000 for Special Olympics Indiana.
