NIPSCO Planning $1B in Improvements

MERRILLVILLE, Ind. (AP): NIPSCO wants to make more than $1 billion dollars in improvements system-wide.

The utility company is launching a project that will replace hundreds of miles of electrical lines and 75 substations. Company officials say the improvements will touch every county they serve.

The company wants to fund the enhancements through annual one percent rate increases from 2015 to 2020.
