SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP):  Notre Dame has received its largest gift ever from a single donor.



The school will use the $75 million from John Jordan to bolster its efforts to become one of the nation's top research schools.



Jordan is a board of trustee member and a co-founder of a private equity firm headquartered in New York.
