COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP): Ohio’s average price for regular gas going into the workweek is up slightly from the state’s average this time last month.

The price per gallon in Ohio was about $1.98 in Monday’s survey from auto club AAA, the Oil Price Information Service and WEX Inc. That’s up 7 cents from the state average of around $1.91 a month ago, but 30 cents below the average price a year ago.

The state average remained below the national average price of $2.06 in Monday’s survey.

Gas prices have increased recently due partly to a decline in fuel production as refineries conduct seasonal maintenance.

Refineries and storage facilities also are reducing existing supplies to make room for summer-blend gasoline that’s mandated by the Environmental Protection Agency.
