UNION MILLS, Ind. (WOWO): One person is dead in a grain silo explosion in Union Mills, according to the LaPorte County Sheriff’s Department. That’s about 15 miles south of LaPorte.

A statement from the sheriff’s department confirmed the explosion was contained to a single grain silo at the Union Mills Co-Op with no hazardous chemicals involved or released. 

The sheriff’s department also said, it didn’t appear fire was involved.
