One hurt in fiery I-69 accident

ANGOLA, Ind. (WOWO): One person was burned in a fiery accident that happened just southwest of Angola Thursday night.

According to the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office, police were called to the southbound 347 mile marker on Interstate 69 to find a vehicle that had gone off the road and was engulfed in flames. A passenger of the vehicle was found nearby with burns to his hands, face, chest and legs.

According to witnesses, the car hadn’t hit anything before it pulled off the Interstate and started burning.

The driver of the vehicle fled the scene and so far hasn’t been found.
