FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The Operation Fight for a Fitter Fort team will be hosting their first ever “No Sweat” event. It'll be held from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Friday, October 10th at Parkview Field.
Some highlights of the free event will include:
*Lunchtime learning on how to get fit, eat smart, and feel good
*Tips on how to prepare a better breakfast and healthy lunches
*Healthy snack ideas
*How to stretch and reduce stress at work
*Learn how to incorporate healthier habits at home
*Proper warm-ups for children and adults before exercising
Then on Saturday, October 11th, Mayor Tom Henry will lead a “Walk a Mile with the Mayor” event at 2:30 p.m., at Foster Park. The walk is open to the public and participants are asked to meet at Pavilion 1.
“No Sweat” and “Walk a Mile with the Mayor” are part of the OPF4 program, a community wellness initiative to encourage individuals to implement fitness, nutrition, wellness, and activities into their lifestyles.
OPF4’s mission is for residents to lose a collective 500,000 pounds by the end of 2016. To date, more than 600 individuals have signed up to participate in OPF4.
