Teen Gets 60 Years for Fatally Shooting Friend

GOSHEN, Ind. (AP) _ A northern Indiana teenager who pleaded guilty to murder in the fatal shooting of a friend has been sentenced to 60 years in prison.
 
The Elkhart Truth reports 19-year-old Miguel Martinez-Villasenor of Elkhart was sentenced to 65 years in prison, with five of those years suspended. He testified in August that he shot 26-year-old Anthony Botello Perez at an Elkhart apartment complex last March because Perez had posted a photograph disrespecting their gang. 
 
Botello Perez's mother, Maria Botello, testified Thursday that although she is still mourning the loss of her son, she forgave Martinez-Villasenor, knowing he had been involved in gang activity. She said her son forgave him also.
