Police arrived just before 8 o’clock Sunday morning and found heavy flames and smoke coming from a two-story home. They learned a man was barricaded inside.

Firefighters attacked the blaze from outside, but once inside, they found 47-year-old Daniel Kent dead on the first floor.

The cause of death and the fire both remain under investigation.
