Pence: Hendrickson is Interim INDOT Commissioner

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ Gov.  Mike Pence has named Brandye Hendrickson as interim Indiana Department of Transportation commissioner, replacing Michael Cline.

Pence said Friday that Hendrickson takes over immediately. She had served as deputy commissioner of the Greenfield district since 2007. She takes over an agency with an annual construction budget of about $250 million and an annual operating budget of $48 million. Pence says he is confident Hendrickson will lead the agency with skill and integrity.

Cline announced earlier this month he was leaving after three years to take become vice president for physical facilities at Purdue University. The Indiana State Ethics Commission cleared the move after he testified he kept his distance from issues he would oversee in his new job while working for the state.
