Pence Praises Test Results

A national test to determine school progress shows Indiana's fourth and eighth graders showed some of the highest improvements in the country for math and reading.

The National Assessment of Educational Progress test showed Indiana having the second highest improvements in the country. Governor Mike Pence credits the leadership of his predecessor Gov. Mitch Daniels and state education leaders for creating environment for success.

More than 700 thousand scores are compiled from around the country. Public school students are tested randomly,
