EDGERTON, Ohio. (WOWO): The Defiance Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a head-on crash that resulted in the hospitalization of three people.

The two vehicle crash happened Tuesday morning on US 6 near milepost 7 in Center Township. Police say a pickup, driven by 23-year-old Joel Birky of West Unity, was traveling westbound on US 6, when he attempted to pass a semi. Birky failed to see a car traveling eastbound, driven by 21-year-old Alexis Gors of Summit Street Defiance. Both drivers attempted to avoid the crash by going off of the roadway, but struck head-on.

Both drivers, along with the passenger in the car, Cody Rochester of Summit Street Defiance, were transported to a nearby hospital. No information about their injuries has been released, but the crash remains under investigation.
