Ivy Tech Receives Federal Grant for New Programs Focused on IT Careers

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WOWO): Ivy Tech Community College will receive a $2.5 million dollar federal grant for job training in IT and cyber-security.

The funding will help Ivy Tech establish and expand information technology labs on 24 campuses and 10 to 12 data centers to train students majoring in network infrastructure and server administration. The money also will help expand a virtual data lab center for distance education and provide professional development for faculty.

Ivy Tech says its new School of Computing and Informatics anticipates more than 4,000 students will complete one or more credentials and land new or better jobs during the grant period.
