Police try to identify skeletal remains found in Auburn

Dekalb County, In (WOWO):  The Indiana State Police are investigating skeletal remains found by an unknown person in a wooded area near C&A Tool Engineering in Auburn on Saturday afternoon.

The persons identity is not immediately possible due to the level of decomposition.   There is an autopsy scheduled on Monday, February 19th to determine their identity and cause of death.

There is no indication of foul play at this point, but investigators will wait until the autopsy results to determine cause of death, when, where and why they were found there.

The investigation is ongoing and The Indiana State Police are being assisted by The Auburn Police Department, The DeKalb County Prosecutor’s Office and the DeKalb County Coroner’s office.
