Pond Honored in Memorial Services

NEW HAVEN, Ind. (WOWO): Scores of friends, family and constituents will pay their final respects to State Representative Phyllis Pond in a funeral this morning in New Haven.

The 82-year-old Pond died Sunday, just weeks after announcing she was resigning because of health concerns. Pond served 35 years as a lawmaker – longer than any woman in state history.

Lieutenant Governor Sue Ellsperman, says Pond was a role model not just for women, but for all legislators.
