Preparedness Items Make Great Holiday Gifts

INDIANAPOLIS (WOWO): With Christmas a week away, many Hoosiers are looking for a last minute gift or stocking stuffer. The Indiana Department of Homeland Security encourages everyone to think about giving the gift of preparedness this year.

Considering last year’s bitter cold and snowy winter, items for a vehicle preparedness kit make thoughtful and useful gifts. Vehicle cell phone chargers, hand warmers, and snow brushes are great gift ideas that won’t stretch holiday budgets.

Another great gift is an all-hazards alert radio. The radios can be purchased for about $30 or $40 at many retail outlets or online.

Other great stocking stuffer ideas:

·Smoke alarms with 10-year lithium batteries
·Flashlights
·Batteries
·First aid kit
