Protests Held at B.A.E. Systems

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A local aircraft contractor was the target of a small protest Thursday.  But, the company and union members say the demonstration was misplaced.  The picketers, all nine of them, according to the Journal-Gazette, were challenging B.A.E. Systems production of unmanned drones for military and surveillance use. Officials at the plant on Taylor Street, say they don’t build drones.  Meanwhile, a counter-protest staged by the factory’s union challenged the value of a protest at a facility not involved in the controversial aircraft. Officials maintain most of the work at the plant is for commercial planes.
