Right-of-Way Acquisition Services Approved by Fort Wayne City Council

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Fort Wayne City Council approved the right-of-way acquisition services, or property rights, to widen W. State Boulevard near North Side High School.

According to our Partners in News at 21Alive, it's the first step for construction to begin in the Brookview-Irvington Park neighborhood.

Fort Wayne also received both State and Federal approval to widen the road. The City is set to demolish 11 homes along State Boulevard in order to begin construction.

The Federal Highway Adminiistration (FHA) gave the construction project the go-ahead by determining there would be no significant impacts on the surrounding environment.
