Security Beefed up For Thunder Over Louisville Event

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WOWO): About 250 law enforcement officers will patrol the Indiana side of the Ohio River during Today's Thunder Over Louisville. That includes 121 Indiana state troopers.

Along with street and foot patrols, the ISP will have an emergency response team, a bomb squad and aircraft available if needed. Tents, pets, skateboards and open fires are prohibited in the event area.

Police warn drivers to be aware of some ramp closures on the Indiana side because of construction on I-65. Sgt. Jerry Goodin with the Indiana State Police, says there will be extra security on the Indiana side.
