Semi Fire Blocks I-69 in DeKalb County

The southbound lanes of I-69 were blocked for a time this afternoon due to a vehicle fire.  It happened at mile marker 333, just south of the U.S. 6 Waterloo/Kendallville interchange.  It’s unclear whether or not there were any injuries, but the resulting lane blockage caused a bumper-to-bumper backup that extended for several miles, approaching U.S. 6.  The northbound lanes were only partially blocked, but there was a moderate backup there as well.
