Senator Coats Weighs in on Unemployment Benefit Legislation

INDIANAPOLIS (WOWO): It's a national issue, but one of Indiana's own is weighing in: the issue of Unemployment Benefits.The Senate is considering right now legislation that would extend unemployment benefits, costing $6 billion dollars. But our senator Dan Coats is offering some amendments that would offset that cost. He says right now, people are simultaneously collecting social security AND unemployment insurance, and that money amounts to the tune of $6 billion. So, Senator Coats is recommending people be prohibited from collected benefits from both funds.
