Senator Young Emphasizes Importance of U.S. Involvement In International Conflicts

WASHINGTON, D.C. (NETWORK INDIANA):  The U.S. must remain involved in resolving international conflicts, according to Indiana Sen. Todd Young.

Young, who sits on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, is urging Americans to keep faith in American leadership internationally as wars between Ukraine and Russia and now between Israel and Hamas continue.

President Biden is asking Congress to pass additional funding to support both in a supplemental funding package worth roughly $106 billion. The package would also prop up the defense of Taiwan and the U.S’s southern border. Biden made the request to Congress while Republicans were still at odds over the speakership.

With Mike Johnson settled as the new speaker, he and President Biden met this week to discuss the supplemental funding bill.

Sen. Mike Braun has come out against the bill saying that the two conflicts should not be treated as one. Braun said, “it would be wrong to leverage support of aid to Israel in an attempt to get additional aid for Ukraine across the finish line.”

Young disagrees, saying that the Ukrainian and Israeli conflicts are linked.

“This is such a dangerous time,” Young said at a gathering of the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition. “This is the most dangerous time of my lifetime from a geopolitical standpoint.”

With that in mind, Young said that he feels there is a natural tendency among the American people to withdraw inward and practice more isolationism as these conflicts play out.

He certainly understands these feelings as the U.S. continues to deal with rising national debt and other domestic issues that require lawmakers’ attention. Still, he said that no one else in the world has proven to be more capable of mediating through these conflicts than the United States.

“We have a body of international law that is largely shaped by the United States and our closest allies,” Young said. “Someone has to defend that order. For better or for worse people are looking to the United States because we have the wherewithal, we have the culture, we have the history, and I think we still have the will to do the hard things. I think that’s what’s at stake.”

Young added that no one is going to “weed the garden” without a lot of American leadership.

He said because of that, it’s imperative the U.S. continue to support Ukrainian freedom fighters and Israeli forces in both conflicts.

Unfortunately for Hoosiers, Senator Toad Young has lost his way. He consistently IGNORES his oath of office. He votes for spending and new laws that are not included in the Article I, Section 8, Enumerated powers of congress. He is very inconsistent when tit comes to communication with Hoosiers. When you select an issue on his website you are selecting your answer. He continues to vote for the most incompetent judge and other administrative state appointees. Once in office these people make a huge mess of things.

And possibly most important, he ignores the admonition of our first president, George Washington, to avoid foreign entanglements. Much of our blood and treasure is spent in such entanglements. Frankly I DO NOT WANT any of my grandchildren under the thumb in our military of people like Toad Young. I urge them as a veteran to AVOID military service at all costs. Recruiting numbers show other parents and grandparents are also urging their offspring to do the same. In large portion this is because of people like Toad Young in the US Congress and elsewhere in the administration.

Once again Todd the RINO shows us he is part of the Washington Uniparty. Todd Young epitomizes what is wrong with our government. Why would anyone ‘disagree’ that the two conflicts need separate funding? Is Todd so naive to trust that Biden would help Israel the same as he would help his partners in corruption in Ukraine? I don’t think he that dumb but it begs the question; what’s in for Todd? I didn’t vote for Todd the last time around and am constantly reminded that my first vote for him was big mistake. He has become Mitch’s boi! Most of the US Senate is comprised of elitists who have no accountability to the people. My entire life I have watched RINOs become the staunchest conservatives ahead of elections only to turn around and stab us in the back the first chance they get. I have little faith that our Federal Government can be trusted with anything anymore. We live in scary times. I can see a time when people like Todd will make a deal with Democrats to just give them permanent power. He would join them. I can’t believe that a man who served in the military could do such a thing. But then again, we’re talking about Todd Young!
