Some S.Indiana Counties Facing Storm Repairs

VINCENNES, Ind. (WOWO):  Some southern Indiana counties are facing many repairs from heavy rains and strong winds that accompanied storms this week.

The National Weather Service estimates some spots had more than 5 inches of rain during the Tuesday and Wednesday storms.

Knox County highway superintendent Ron Cardinal tells the Vincennes Sun-Commercial that about 10 roads were washed out in the county and at least one bridge needs to be examined. Kellie Streeter of the county emergency management agency says much flash flooding occurred because strong storm cells kept coming.

Jayna Turpin of rural Bloomfield says Wednesday’s storm demolished a barn at her home, seriously damaging an antique tractor and jeep parked inside.
