Suspect hits Squad, Sparks Chase

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): One man is in custody after he led police on a five-mile chase through northwest Allen County early this morning.  

According to police reports, 28-year-old Adam Wolf of Albion is charged with criminal recklessness, operating while intoxicated involving endangerment, resisting law enforcement, leaving the scene of an accident along with  a number of traffic offenses. He  had a blood alcohol level of .149 percent, nearly twice the legal limit.  

Around 3:15 Monday morning, police say a woman alerted them that Wolf was following her. Moments later when an officer attempted to stop the car, Wolf tried to hit it head-on.

The officer maneuvered his car out of the way and the suspects car skimmed the left side.

Then Wolf led police on a crash that stretched from Northland Boulevard to Wallen Road and East to North Clinton before he surrendering on Web Lane. In that chase, he's alleged to have attempted to hit another police cruiser.
