Suspicious Homeowner Leads to Meth Bust at His House

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Last evening, just before 6, Fort Wayne Police were called to a house on Weisser Park, near Senate Avenue to a report of a burglary in progress. 24-year-old James Francis had called out to a neighbor because he had two people trapped in his basement. Officers got to the scene and checked the inside of the house for intruders, but they found no evidence of any intruder or forced entry into the house. However while in the house, officers found an active “one pot meth lab.” Additional crews were called to the scene, and a meth team found more evidence of several prior meth labs and chemicals associated with its production. Police say they don't believe there were intruders in the home but that paranoia is a common side effect of meth substance abuse. Francis now faces 6 different charges. This is the 55th meth lab investigated by the FWPD.
