FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): After nearly 60 years in business, the Rib Room in Fort Wayne is no more.

The mainstay on East State closed its doors for good on Saturday after years of financial trouble and declining business.

The final nail in the coffin for the 58-year old business was the retirement of owner Sam Filippou. With his retirement, the Filippou family was not in a position to continue operating.

Last year, the Rib Room was sold to Matt, Kurt, and Chris Henry, who remodeled the building and opened Nick's Wine and Martini Bar. The wine bar will remain open, but unless someone steps up to buy the Rib Room, the doors will remain closed.
