Trial Begins for Suspects in Drexel Avenue Shooting

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The trials have started for the two suspects involved in the September shooting on Drexel Avenue.

The court hearings for the two men will continue until this Friday.

According to the Journal Gazette, Kulon Lewis Jr. and Trayshaun Pernell are accused of shooting Dytrell Allen multiple times, leaving him paralyzed.

Prosecutors say Allen was standing outside a home on Drexel Ave. when a car pulled up, and one of the suspects began firing. 

The two 21-year-olds are undergoing a joint trial in Allen Superior Court, one of the men accused of shooting Allen in the head and spine.
