Man Arrested After Steuben County Crash

Police in Steuben County were called to the scene of a crash on SR-120 near CR-585-N at about 11:40 on Saturday night.  When they got there, they found a pickup truck that had apparently been headed east on SR-120 and had failed to negotiate the curve at CR-585-N.  The truck went off the side of the road and collided with some trees before coming to a stop.  The driver had reportedly left the scene before emergency responders got there.   A Steuben County K-9 was used on a track and the driver, 31-year-old Jason Peet of Angola was located inside a parked vehicle at a home about a half mile from the scene.  Peet was taken to Cameron Hospital for medical treatment.

Once medically cleared at the hospital Peet was taken to the Steuben County jail and later booked on a initial charge of Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated.  Additional charges could also be filed, once the case is reviewed by the prosecutor.
