Trial for Suspended Officer David Bisard to Begin Monday

<div style=”color: #000000;”>

INDIANAPOLIS (WOWO): This week, several people out of 150 potential jurors will become the jury that decides the fate of suspended Indy police officer David Bisard. Jury selection begins Monday morning in Allen Superior Court. Prosecutors accuse Bisard of driving his squad car into a pair of motorcycles while intoxicated, killing one of the motorcyclists. In addition, he has a misdemeanor charge of OWI in a separate crash back in April. The case is in Fort Wayne because of extensive publicity in Indianapolis. Bisard's attorneys want the judge to close the hearings so the public can't attend, along with sequestering the jury and suppressing the blood vials collected from Bisard. Former Marion County Prosecutor Carl Brizzi made statements about whether those blood vials were admissible, and prosecutors want those statements tossed out.
