Twelve-Year Old Shipshewana Girl Dies in LaGrange Crash

SHIPSHEWANA, Ind. (WOWO): A 12 year old Shipshewana girl is dead following an accident in LaGrange County Thursday morning.

Authorities in LaGrange County say that Issac Hunter was speeding on County Road 675 West northeast of Shipshewana at about 7:45 a.m.

He reportedly lost control on a curve while passing a horse and buggy and hitting an embankment. The vehicle rotated, and the 12 year old girl was ejected from the back window of the car. She was pronounced dead at the scene and it's not believed she was wearing a seatbelt.

Issac Hunter wasn't hurt, but another passenger, 16 year old Joshua Hunter, was taken to Parkview LaGrange for treatment.

No charges have been filed yet, but the crash is still being investigated by the LaGrange County Sheriff's Department.
