UPDATE: 10-Year-Old Dies After Being Hit While Riding Bicycle

WINONA LAKE, Ind. (WOWO): A 10-year-old Winona Lake boy has died after being hit by a pickup truck Monday night while riding with his bicycle. The Winona Lake Police Department confirms that Kurt Engler died Tuesday morning at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis.

A 10-year-old boy is in critical condition after being hit while riding a bike. Monday night around 9:30, Kosciusko County Dispatch got a call alerting them to an accident at CR 250E and Lexington Drive in Winona Lake. An investigation shows that the 10-year-old was riding his bicycle when he failed to stop at a stop sign and went into the road in front of a pickup truck driven by Richard Riedel, of Mentone. According to the Journal Gazette, police do not believe drugs or alcohol to be factors in the incident.
