UPDATE: Victim identified in Monday night shooting

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A shooting at a Fort Wayne shopping center left one person dead and another in critical condition Monday night.

Fort Wayne police were called to the gas station at 1125 West State Blvd. at 5:53 p.m. on reports of a shooting. They found one man lying in the parking lot at the West State Plaza shopping center, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He was taken to an area hospital where he was last listed in critical condition.

A few minutes later, police dispatch learned of a second shooting victim, who had been taken to the hospital in a private vehicle. Police arrived and confirmed he was connected to the shooting. Brinden R. Hall Fletcher, 25 of Fort Wayne, was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. His cause of death was due to gunshot wounds, and his manner of death was ruled a homicide.

Early reports are that there was some sort of fight that happened in the parking lot of the shopping center just before the shooting. Police are currently speaking with several witnesses.
