Van Wert Dog Warden Dismissed

VAN WERT, Oh. (WOWO): Van Wert County, Ohio's Dog Warden has been fired.

Rich Struckenberg had been on placed on leave after a tip to the Sheriff's Department uncovered serious wrong-doing at the animal shelter.

The sheriff has not disclosed what they found, but according to a Times Bulletin report, Van Wert Commissioners dismissed Struckenberg for failure to supply adequate food and water, failure to clean kennels and cages and failure to remove dead animals.

Right now, a sheriff's deputy is overseeing the shelter.
