FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): If you’ve shopped at Vera Bradley this summer, you might want to check your credit card statement.

On Sept. 15, law enforcement told Vera Bradley they may have a data security issue, according to Vera Bradley’s website.

When the company learned about the potential hack, it contacted payment card networks and launched an investigation. The company found that cards used at retail locations between July 25 and Sept. 23 may have been affected.

Cards used online weren’t involved in the hack and not all cards used during that time frame were affected.

Investigators learned that an unauthorized access installed a program that looked for payment data. The program collected card numbers, cardholder names, expiration dates and internal verification codes.

Vera Bradley is currently working with its computer security firm to strengthen its system.

The company said it regrets any inconvenience this may have caused. Anyone with questions can call 844-723-9340.
