REMINGTON, Ind. (AP) _ State Police say Interstate 65's southbound lanes have been closed in northern Indiana following a series of weather-related crashes.
Police said late Tuesday morning that I-65's southbound lanes were closed at the Jasper County-White County line, about 30 miles northwest of Lafayette. The highway's southbound lanes were iced over following a winter storm that swept across Indiana overnight.
Southbound traffic was being diverted by police off the highway at the 201-mile marker at the Remington/Wolcott exit.
Police urged motorists to avoid that portion of I-65 if they were traveling southbound because it was unclear how long those lanes would remain closed.
