Weekend storms produce tornadoes in Angola

ANGOLA, Ind. (WOWO): This past weekend’s storms brought two tornadoes to Angola.

The National Weather Service confirmed that two weak tornadoes briefly touched down in the Steuben County town of about 8,600 Saturday evening.

Storms pushed throughout at about 6:30pm, with an EF-0 tornado with peak wind speeds of 80 miles per hour touching down in a field west of County Road 150 West near West Waymire Road. The other, an EF-1 with wind speeds of 105 miles per hour, touched down a few minutes later near County Road 150 West and West 175 South Road.

Several buildings and a number of trees were damaged.
