FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The Whitley County Republican Party has chosen a new Auditor.

Jana Schinbeckler was elected to fill the vacant spot. Wednesday night, the Whitley County Republican Party held a caucus to fill the opening until the end of the term, which is December 31st of this year.

She fills the spot of former auditor Jennifer McGuire, who resigned after alleged wrong doing. She was escorted from her office on July 25th. It's expected that Schinbeckler will take the oath of office on Thursday, September 4th.
