SAN DIEGO, Calif. (WOWO): A Williams County, Ohio man has been arrested in California after authorities say he raped his mentally handicapped step-daughter.

The U.S. Marshals service reported Ricky Rothenbuhler, who had been on the run since October, was taken into custody Thursday in a desert campground in Southern California. 

He will be returned to Ohio.

Authorities say he fled Ohio and attempted to change his appearance by dying his hair and losing weight to avoid detection.
He was discovered living in an area called “Slab City,” a desert hangout for known drifters.
