Woman Critically Injured After Jet Boat, Pontoon Boat Crash

INDIANAPOLIS (AP): Authorities say an Indianapolis woman was critically injured when a jet boat going about 50 mph crashed into the pontoon boat she was driving.
Conservation Officer Jet Quillen say the Sunday collision on Geist Reservoir crash injured 52-year-old Rebecca Harris.

Witnesses said an 18-foot jet boat with seven people aboard broadsided the driver's side of the pontoon boat that was traveling about 15 mph. The driver of the jet boat told rescue crews he saw the pontoon boat too late to avoid the collision. His boat flew 15 feet over the pontoon boat before returning to the water.

The collision threw Harris' husband from the pontoon boat but he wasn't injured. No one on the jet boat was hurt.
